statement

I have been creating work that investigates absences and desire, how they persist and haunt in memory both temporally and spatially. Through the use of themes of the American West – from cinema and landscape to masculinity and control, as well as imagery of my childhood growing up around animals, farms, and rodeos in Nebraska – I begin to play with staging and installation to produce my work. Mediums are fluid in my practice; wood, metal, ceramics, light, painting, video, sound, and kinetics are all incorporated into sculptures that create a dialogue in the space between them.
